Hire Policy
We want you to have the best (and safest) picnic on the Sydney harbour. To keep things simple here are the key things you need to know when hiring one of our boats.
What’s included
– fully electric picnic boat ( no fuel cost, no noise, no fumes)
– Cushioned seating and picnic table
– Cooler compartment for food and drinks
– Bluetooth sound system
– Bimini top for shade
– Safety gear and marine radio
– A full safety briefing before departure
Who can hire
– skipper must be 18+ years old
– No boat license required
– Skipper must stay under 0.05 BAC (same as driving a car)
Capacity
– maximum 7 people per boat, (including children)
– Life jackets are provided for all ages
Departure and return
– boats depart from putney boat ramp wharf
– Please arrive 15 minutes prior for your safety briefing
– Late returns may be charged at a extra cost ( we often have back to back bookings)
Weather policy
– If the weather is unsafe or unsuitable, we will contact you and arrange a reschedule or full refund
– Light rain is fine under Bimini top, but if conditions are unsafe we won’t send you out
Food and drinks
– BYO food and drinks are welcome
– Please drink responsibly- the skipper must remain under the legal alcohol limit
– Cans or plastic bottles are preferred for safety
Swimming
– Swimming is allowed in safe areas for e.g: out of harms way from other waterway users and in sheltered bays
– The skipper must always remain on the boat when others swim
Cancellations
– Cancel more than 48 hours before your booking: full refund
– Cancel within 48 hours : booking credit (re schedule)
– No shows : non refundable
Damage and safety
– Treat the boat as if it’s your own
– Any deliberate damage or loss of equipment may be charged to you
– Always follow the safety instructions given at the briefing
